About Suzanne:

Suzanne Bien Bonet is a New York State licensed psychoanalyst and creative arts therapist with a private practice in New York City. She works with adult individuals, couples and adolescents. Specialties include addiction and recovery, co-dependency and creativity development. She is also the Director of Education for the Institute for Expressive Analysis as well as a faculty member, training analyst and supervisor. Suzanne has taught a wide variety of courses on psychoanalytic theory and practice and has been supervising candidates in training for over ten years.

Suzanne has been in the mental health field for over 30 years and began her career as a mental health practitioner by earning a masters degree in creative arts therapy from Pratt Institute in 1979. While working in a variety of clinical settings including in-patient psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and out patient substance abuse treatment, she also completed post- masters psychoanalytic training.

She has had a private practice since 1983 and graduated from the Institute for Expressive Analysis as a psychoanalyst in 1989.

From 1986 to 2003 Suzanne was affiliated with an outpatient substance abuse treatment program. She became the coordinator of the clinical program and conducted staff meetings, group and individual supervision as well as provided clinical services for clients. She also provided clinical training for staff that combined psychoanalytic concepts with the practical aspects of substance abuse treatment.

Since 2003 she has been full time in private practice and involved in the training of psychoanalytic candidates. She maintains and active interest in the creative arts and is a student of both dance and classical piano.
